The Communicator of the Year
The Communicator of the Year is our most prestigious and enduring award. For over 40 years, BMA of New York City has recognized a leader in business-to-business marketing communications each year at a luncheon in Manhattan. The criteria for selecting a winner are stringent, and include such critical communications elements as the ability to create uniqueness and impact, and building highly recognizable brand awareness. Previous winners include Tom Brokaw, Gertrude Crain, Malcolm Forbes, Hon. Ed Koch and Mort Zuckerman. Recipients over the past 8 years have included AT&T, IBM, Lucent Technologies, Merrill Lynch, The US Postal Service, Ernst & Young, AETNA Corporation and Verizon Wireless.
On Tuesday, September 23, 2008 the Business Makreting Association of New York will be honoring AMEX as Communicator of the Year for their Plum Card Campaign. The festivities will take place at Tavern on the Green as part of Advertising Week. Start time will be 12 noon for cocktail and hors d'ouevres followed by a sit down dinner.
This is the 42nd Annual Communicator of the Year Event in recognition for outstanding B2B marketing communicators who have, in the judgment of the board of the BMA, distinquished themselves with excellent B2B marketing communications that serves as an example to all business marketers and is worthy of emulation.

The 2007 Communicator of the Year Event - took place during Advertising Week on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at TAVERN ON THE GREEN. It was a luncheon to honor Larry Bloomenkranz Vice President - Brand Management, Advertising & Sponsorships for UPS.
